Builder grade homes are the most common commodities on the market, making them an easy purchase for first time home buyers. The good thing about builder grade space is that they can be revamped quite easily and turned into your dream home, one space at a time, as they basically are a blank canvas. Instagram user @farmhouseish is on a mission to give her entire home a custom upgrade, working one room at a time. Recently she has been reinventing her bathroom and she saved a ton by making her own DIY custom and trendy glass door shower panel, and the best part is that it's more sturdy and safe than the traditional option, check it out below!

In design terms “builder grade” is often tossed around, and this is because most conventional homes are built in this manner. Builder grade refers to the construction and finishing of a home build and it directly refers to the use of the most simple and bare-bones materials including paint, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, flooring, appliances, tub/shower inserts, ect. The basic similarities you can find in generic new construction. But on the flipside they are the perfect canvas for custom designs.

To make this unique, budget friendly shower panel the woman made two wooden frames that were identical, with three large cut outs for her glass panels going up the middle. She painted the frames black and then cut plexi-glass instead of regular glass out for the inserts- but you of course could opt for regular glass. She sandwiched the panels between the wood frames and sealed the panels off with silicone, making the seams watertight!
