Bathtub races make splash at MelonFest

HERMISTON — The Hermiston MelonFest rang with fun and laughter Saturday, Aug. 19, as community members cheered 12 teams competing in this year’s watermelon bathtub races.

The event featured teams of three bobbing and weaving through an obstacle course of cones while trying to not tip over a bathtub filled with water. The team member inside the tub was tasked with sabotaging other competitors by throwing water in their paths.
